When playing Command & Conquer Generals on my surface, I found that it was not playing in full screen and my Microsoft Surface resolution was not available in the game options.
I was able to easily resolve this issue by updating the configuration file.
Steps to Fix
1. Locate your current screen resolution in Windows
2. Open the games “options.ini” file. Usually located in Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data
3. Adjust the numbers on the highlighted line for “Resolution” to match those in step 1. In this case “2160 1440”
4. Save the changes
5. Open Command & Conquer Generals and the game should now play full screen.
Now that this fix has been applied DO NOT change the screen resolution within the game options as this will overwrite the fix.
